Lupus

In this day and age, the diagnosis of an illness such as lupus is not a death sentence. In fact, it is far from it. Most people with lupus will need to adjust their lifestyles in certain ways to manage their condition more successfully and as a result they can expect to enjoy a generally 'normal' life.

The key to living a good life with lupus is knowing about the condition, understanding what your limitations are and making the absolute most of what you have.

The Lupus Association of NSW Inc. encourages you to do educate yourself about lupus so that you can become proactive and involved in managing your condition.  There is no doubt that the internet can be a wonderful place to find a massive variety of information, however, you must always be careful when taking information from the internet to ensure that the source is qualified and reliable.

Always remember that lupus can be a very unpredictable condition and its effects can vary widely from person to person.  When reading other's personal stories and experiences you must always remember that just because someone else has been affected in a certain way, it does not necessarily mean that you too will experience those same effects or to the same degree as someone else.

You should always seek the professional advice of a medical specialist or GP prior to making any changes that may affect the management of your condition. So, read on, learn about living with lupus, and if there is anything you are unsure about, ask your doctor or contact the Lupus Association of NSW Inc.
